Heavy Rainfall in Rewari District Causes Waterlogging, Affects Daily Life
Rewari (Haryana), November 12, 2025:
The Rewari district witnessed heavy rainfall on Tuesday morning, leading to severe waterlogging in several areas including Model Town, Bawal Road, and near Rewari Bus Stand. The unexpected downpour disrupted traffic and caused difficulties for school children and office-goers.
Local residents complained that despite repeated assurances from the municipal authorities, the drainage system remains inefficient. “Every year we face the same problem. The water stays on roads for hours,” said Ramesh Kumar, a shopkeeper from Model Town.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Rewari and nearby districts including Gurugram, Mahendragarh, and Narnaul are expected to receive light to moderate rain over the next 24 hours. Farmers in the region welcomed the rain, saying it would benefit the rabi crops.
District administration officials said that teams have been deployed to clear the waterlogged areas and monitor the situation. Citizens have been advised to avoid low-lying regions and drive carefully during rain.
